Volunteers are very important to the Aboriginal Literacy Foundation. Without the support and hard work of our volunteers, the many programs that the Aboriginal Literacy Foundation provides would not be possible.
The Aboriginal Literacy Foundation is always searching and recruiting for volunteers. We are in constant need of volunteer tutors that could assist in aiding the lives of hundreds of Aboriginal students across Australia.
Please note that we will endeavour to respond to all applicants, we may be unable to respond to each individual volunteer inquiry but you will be placed on our volunteer email list.
2. Check out some ways to get involved below. Be sure to follow the instructions for each opportunity presented.
Do you have connections within a corporation or foundation that might be interested in funding our work? Can you introduce Aboriginal Literacy Foundation to a publisher that would be interested in supporting us?
Aboriginal Literacy Foundation organises regular events and rely on the support of volunteers to make the event successful. If there is an event happening in your area and you would like to help out, please contact info@aboriginalliteracyfoundation.org
The Aboriginal Literacy Foundation is always looking for people to donate new or pre-loved children’s books to the organisation. We are ideally looking for books for children aged 4-12, both fiction and non-fiction and in good condition. The books will be supplied to the thousands of Indigenous students who have troubles with literacy and numeracy. You can mail books to the Aboriginal Literacy Foundation at;
Ross House, 247 Flinders Lane, Melbourne Vic 3000
Please email info@aboriginalliteracyfoundation.org for more information.
Are you considering running a marathon and would like to raise money for Aboriginal Literacy Foundation? In lieu of gifts for your birthday or wedding, are you asking guests to make donations to Aboriginal Literacy Foundation?
To start your own fundraising event is easy. Firstly, you can either choose a particular area where you would like your funds to go, or the Aboriginal Literacy Foundation can provide the funds to those with the greatest need- it’s up to you!
Secondly, hold an event or fundraising appeal; for example a read-a-thon, gala dinner etc. If holding a large event makes you weak at the knees, think about doing something small, like having a dinner party with friends where everyone donates $5. Every cent counts! (All donations over $2 are tax deductible)
Finally, collect all of the donations, jump on the Aboriginal Literacy Foundation website and hit the Donate Today button. If you have any great ideas about fundraising appeals - send an email to us at info@aboriginalliteracyfoundation.org we would love to hear your thoughts!
